What you’ll be doing:
This PAID internship offers a hands-on journey through the full life cycle of apple production, from orchard to export. You’ll join us in your next school holidays for 3 weeks (1st Dec 2025 – 19th Dec 2025) and return in the first term holidays (7th Apr 2026 – 19th Apr 2026). You will learn through three key departments:
- Orchards: Learn the art of growing extraordinary apples through thinning, counting, and seasonal orchard tasks
- Post-Harvest: Dive into lab testing, packing, seeing the world of automation, and logistics to see how apples are prepared for global markets
- Business Support Services: Meet the teams behind finance, marketing, sales, shipping, compliance, and more
- Work alongside industry experts
- Hands on work (80%)
- Deliver a project/presentation to your school
- Take part in a site tour of other horticultural businesses
- Possibly earn additional certifications
What you’ll bring:
- A passion for horticulture and a strong work ethic
- Willingness to try new roles and stay engaged whilst earning through learning
- Good communication skills and a commitment to sharing your experience with your school
- You will be available for the full 5 weeks of the internship
- You are currently year 12 and will be completing year 13 in 2026
