We're looking for a confident, capable Team Leader to take the reins of our day shift and elevate our Coolstore to the next level.

What you’ll be doing:

In this hands-on role, you'll drive operational efficiency, meet product and workflow targets, and foster a strong safety-first culture. Reporting directly to the Logistics & Operations Manager, you'll guide our forklift crew through the day shift at our Hastings Coolstore.

You will be responsible for:

• Leading a strong Health & Safety culture, you will be required to lead toolbox meetings and ensure team members are engaged.
• Be the champion of forklift operations across the Coolstore, setting the standard for safe and efficient use across site
• Operate forklifts daily to move product, including bins and palletised goods.
• Train new and existing team members in safe and effective forklift operation.
• Work closely with the Logistics team to set plans for Coolstore operations.
• Maintain staff numbers and work closely with the Logistics & Operations Manager to recruit staff to fulfill operations.
• You will be in sole charge of shift, team and site security.
• Ensure Forklifts, VMUs and Stillages are maintained, and all issues are raised proactively and efficiently.  

What you’ll bring:



• Knowledge of cool store logistics and planning
• Five years forklift driving experience
• Three years’ experience in leading a team
• Three years’ experience working in a cool store environment
• Ability to work autonomously, problem solve and make decisions
• Experience in training new forklift drivers and upskilling existing forklift drivers
• Knowledge of Samoan or Tongan culture and language would be a bonus
• Can pass a pre-employment drug test
• Full NZ drivers licence

• Hourly rate $29.00- $35.00 pending on experience
